A recipe for fun...

Children often remember the little things they do with their parents. It's not so much the grand gestures, but the time spent together, working together, playing together, that makes a loving impression on their young minds. Here is a suggestion for something to make and enjoy with your child.

Note: Please always use the utmost caution when cooking with your child. Keep little hands away from hot surfaces.

Playdough recipe

1 cup flour
½ cup salt
2 teaspoons cream of tartar (A white powder that is a byproduct of wine fermentation. It can be found in most grocery stores in the spice section.)
1

cup water

1 tablespoon oil
  food coloring
scent (Essentials oils like lavendar or tangerine or natural food extracts work well.)

Directions: Mix dry ingredients in a sauce pan. Add wet ingredients while stirring over low heat. Continue cooking and stirring until dough thickens and pulls away from side of pan. This can take anywhere from 2
to 15+ minutes depending on your stovetop. Just keep an eye on it. Knead and store in an airtight container.
